Are we sure as in 100% certain? No.

Things that sway me, however:
  • Chloe could have used a name pulled out of thin air--which she basically did--except she claimed it was her cousin, which implies a real Lois. Which is no surprise, I know - I don't think they've ever made the Lois-Chloe connection onscreen before, but they've been saying it in interviews for a year or so, right?

  • Saying that a real Lois doesn't care about journalism is only a joke if Max knows Lois, and knows she's a journalist or journalism student.

  • Chloe choosing that pseudonym is, of course, guaranteed to make anyone who likes Chloe and worries she'll get killed off squee with delight. It's a stupid move to make the Chloe-is-Lois idea canon (which they have just done) if they don't want to follow through with it in terms of keeping fans happy. Especially since TPTB have done a really good job of keeping the fangirls happy this season in every way except onscreen Clark/Lex macking.

They've fucked with a lot of stuff. If they make Adam into Bruce Wayne, as people are hoping, that's a serious twist of Bat canon and Supes canon. Apparently, Claire Foster was supposed to live long enough to be Supes' therapist at some point, which obviously isn't going to happen. So there's no reason to think Lois is sacred. I like Chloe--she's scratchy and abrasive and real, and AM is a great actress--and I do like the idea that she's Lois.

There are implications to the Chloe=Lois idea that really interest me. I was going to try to list them all, but maybe I'll write a story instead ;)
