It kind of seems like cheating to smush the characters into a single person...but people have been saying all along that Chloe and Lois were alike. So far as I can remember, we've never had confirmation on the show that Chloe and Lois were related, although AlMiles said so in interviews.

I never watched that Lois & Clark show for a number of reasons--mainly because I found Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher unappealing and annoying, and I don't really remember movie Lois. I've never really cared about Lois. And I don't really care now. No that's not true. I do care if Chloe is Lois, because it gives me some story ideas that seem fun. But the idea doesn't have to be canon for me to write it--it just needs to seem plausible, and right now it does.
