Every time I read Bruce in fanfic--even when I enjoyed it--I was confused because I'd always been under the impression that Bruce and Clark were more or less the same age in comics, but in fanon he's usually portrayed as even older than Lex. Making that switch back and thus changing the dynamic was my vague initial plan.
I've always liked the Bat--he's pretty much the only mainstream comics character I ever read--but I'm certainly no Batman expert. There may be some huge repository of Teen!Bruce canon out there, but I haven't seen it. The psychological stuff that would happen in between death-of-parents and becoming Batman is something I hadn't seen done in fanfic, and so I wanted to poke at it a little.
I do think that Bruce screwed up here, but that's the kind of thing that a young person does, intentionally or not, no matter how smart they are.
Um...I'm babbling here. I'm just really happy someone read it! :) And you seem to have liked it! Thank you.
