See, as a Catholic-raised person, I think my issues with the whole married!Jesus thing would have been two-fold.
One, It would have been terribly selfish of Jesus to get married and have baybeees because his mighty God-appointed mission would have caused him to become a Neglectful Parent and Spouse. And obviously Jesus is perfect, albeit a perfect human, so he would never think of such a thing. In fact, I think I was told this. Somebody, at school I think, definitely said that Jesus probably thought about getting married but didn't because he was too busy doing holy preacherly things. Since religious are not married to other human beings in the Catholic world, this made total sense.
The second and most obvious thing is: if Christ was married with kids, where were they during the Crucifixion? What story teller true and divinely inspired Gospel could possibly leave out the doubtless heartrending actions and comments of Mrs Jesus and the kids? If JC had a family other than his mum and St Joseph and those mysterious "brothers", they'd have to get a mention in the Bible surely. As it happens though, Jesus mostly being attended by his mum, an ex-hooker and a couple of unmarried sisters, and a lot of counterculture men, just makes him seem Quite Gay by our standards. (Either that or a heinous playa. He was a chick magnet, it seems.)
