Some oranges are more equal than others. My downstairs is about to be painted Glidden's "Pale Orange." My first choice was "Summer Lily" -- closer to that gold-orange curry color you mention -- but as I stared at the sample patch on the wall it started to seem too strong and I chickened out. Pale Orange is more of a gold-yellow, really. Chicken! Buuuuuck!
The trim will be a red-brown rust color. I share all this with you for no good reason.
I'm doing the kitchen in Summer Lily, though. With cabinet doors and pantry shelves in deep, dark blue. I worry that it'll be too much for my guests, but after years in apartments with off-white walls, a little boldness is in order.
