I really like Riki's characterization. You've made him strong and intelligent and masculine, which is something I'm always looking for in Riki, but I often find those characteristics lacking. Iason is less developed because you aren't looking at the story through his eyes in this case, but the little tidbits that you share about his character (spoiled, determined, aloof, but always wearing a mask) make me hope that you write some fic some Iason's perspective.
The most powerful moment for me was when Riki was told to go home. I really felt his shock and confusion in that moment, but I know I felt it so strongly because of the build up that led to it.
And I'm giving you the Whipcrack icon because I'm really hoping to see more from you. ^_^ I've friended you so that I can keep an eye on fic updates. If I need to be on any LJ filters to read any fics, could you please add me? (I don't think so based on this fic being public, but thought I'd better ask just in case -- a lot of LJ writers do that.)
