Two in one day!

I chose these colors and typefaces because this story reminds me of the sort of clever, well-dressed 1930s and 40s movies that I love, in that there is SO MUCH wonderful, witty dialogue. One might be tempted to say it sparkles. And I quote from my email to Joyful: Even though this story is completely contemporary, and the girl doesn't get the boy and doesn't even want him, I insisted on making a pseudo-retro image where the fags hang with their hag and adore her like a goddess. Because, dude, without her they'd be pouting and lonely.
Normally, I am not fond of Eliza Dushku as Lois because she seems too young to me, but she's perfect as *this* Lois. Considering how much I like Alex, and the whole m/m romance and porn aspect of the story, I think it's telling that I tend to gush most about *Lois* here ;)
5 done, 11 to go.
FYI, image and complete rec list also visible here on my site.

Hee! Yes! That's so perfect. They'd really both be completely lost without her! They're so her manbitches!! ;D
Eeee! I can't even express my giddyness right now. I shall try later with e-mail (I should be packing at the moment...) but I wanted to say thank you right away because this is totally awesome and gorgeous (have I mentioned gorgeous yet?)!!! *hugs*

Date: 2003-12-16 05:20 am (UTC)2. you are the one who put the image of parker posey (my favorite actor EVER) in my head as lois lane, and now i just can't imagine anyone else when i read her. people in this fandom seem to really like eliza dushku, though. i seem to remember another story where the writer envisioned her as hope. huh.

I'm avoiding all Hope & Mercy stories because I'm trying to write my own, but...isn't Hope African-American in the comics? Which means nothing in fic, of course, but that's how I've been picturing her.
