naked ladies!

Is there anything more romantic than naked ladies? I think not. My evening in flesh:

We went to see Sexy Friend, who from now on I will refer to by her stage name, which is Kicky La Rue. I am doing Kicky's website, which right now is just a splash screen, but if you would be so kind as to click on it, maybe it will get picked up by the webcrawlers...I have done everything I can to get it to show up on searches, but it's just not showing up, dammit.



So if any of you are old enough to remember Details magazine when it was originally gay, there were a number of people who were talked about in "gossip" section, which was usually the majority of the magazine's content. The adventures of a Katy K were frequently documented. Ms. K has ended up here in Nashvegas, and she was the organizer of tonight's Girlesque show. It was being filmed for some purpose, and since the roving camera guy spent most of the evening across from me, I may be appearing on screens near you sometime in the nearish future.

In addition to Kicky La Rue, there were also local darlings Panty Raid, as well as national acts the Pontani Sisters and Catherine D'Lish. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, give or take a few expletives, here are some pictures of Ms. Kicky La Rue:

and, at last, Ms. Catherine D'Lish, who is a Big Deal so far as these things go, and puts on quite the show. Unfortunately, none of the photos of her lovely costumes turned out, but at least we have a good one of her nekkid.



I am intensely interested in finally, at long last, becoming an official naked lady myself. Well, in about 20 lbs. I ran into Coffee Bob, who is very enthusiastic about me getting nakedish right now, but as flattering as that is, I'm going to wait a little bit. At the end of the evening, I was feeling cheerful and tipsy and Mr. G got a picture of me which is not half bad. You cannot tell that I am wearing a drag queen's bounty of eye makeup--I look as though I'm wearing none. I am saucily putting on lipgloss with a naughty finger, however.



No one thinks about the poor souls who have to clean up after the naked ladies have all left...

Ooh! Um, when is it, exactly? Because if I can time a trip for naked lady viewing as well as Northwestiness, the seeing of old friends and meeting of new, etc., well, that would be the best.

Last year it was in May, but it can vary depending on how well organized the organizers are and the availability of the venue. I remember going to one in August several years ago.

Wow, is the place really that well-lit, or is that just the flash of your camera? And odd question, I guess, but it's the first thought that came to mind.

It was REALLY well-lit, probably because of all the filming they were doing...but these things usually are well-lit so that you can see all the nekkidness.

And yes, Kicky is hot. Besides being a sexpot, she's also the mother of a 2-year-old genius and the best hairstylist who has ever touched my head.

Aww, I wish Mr. Rhi and I had been able to attend. It looks like so much fun! Instead when he was done with his work, he made me chocolate covered strawberries and then left me alone while I finished my story. Romantic! Heh.

Heh. Thank you! It's a good angle. I have to figure out why my makeup disappears in all photographs of me, however. I am wearing a ton of eye makeup here, but I look all natural and shit.

It was very, very fun. I'll keep you informed of the next time one of these takes place--there are little shows every few weeks, but the "big" shows like this one are really worth seeing. Very sexy and playful. We didn't take pictures of the non-dancing acts, but there were singers for this one, and usually there's an MC telling silly vaudeville jokes.

I love true burlesque. The TVFrance channel in BC aired the new years show from the "kicking horse lounge" or some such place on new years about 5 years ago and it was wonderful! Loki was working, so I sat at home and described the acts to him over the phone.

It's so much fun--very playful and sexy, with lots of corny jokes from the MC. This time, the MC was a woman who sings with this big, beautiful, raunchy voice, so that was an added bonus.

The woman who did the champagne glass routine also did a fan dance. I'm trying to convince my friend that *she* should do a fan dance--I think it's my favorite "traditional" burlesque routine, now that I've seen a few of them performed.
