I hadn't checked my stats on my website for a week or so, and was surprised to see that a huge number of hits have registered in the last ~30 hours or so. When I looked further to see what the relative excitement was all about, I wasn't able to tell specifically (though it's always nice to know that people are interested and reading), but I did notice that someone did a search for "shirtless tied-up cowboys" and got me. Heh. It's very likely this is due to the story Midnight Cowboys, but I can't help picturing Clark and Lex wearing leather chaps and cowboy hats, Clark tied to the fence and Lex menacing him with a branding iron while wearing some of those cool, fringed, Dale Evans-style gauntlet gloves. Oh, and I'm there, too: dressed like a 40s pinup and wearing, of course, red cowboy boots.

Other oddness: there is another Velvetglove who writes fanfic, but it appears to be about Transformers. Aren't Transformers those little cars and boats and planes that turn into robots? I considered putting a note on my site that would draw a firm line between my alien/billionaire porn and someone else's toy robot porn, but I decided that would constitute a case of pushing the ridiculous even further away from the sublime, and thus I am leaving things as they are.

You were right, nerodi--this show is crack: America's Next Top Model: Okay, I watched this for the first time last week, and then I saw it last night, and I love this show. It's excruciating! If Shandi doesn't win the entire thing, I'll be very surprised. She actually reminds me of a boobless Gisele Bundchen - Gisele had the close-set eyes and big nose thing going on when she started as a model, and obviously it didn't hurt her career any. Shandi's main problems seem to be insecurity and immaturity. She's a mousy skeleton from nowhere with a dorky gay boyfriend...and then suddenly she's a glamorous model-in-training. Mercedes is the nicest, Yoanna has the most beautiful face, and April is so determined to do this right that she's going to grind her teeth down to little nubs. Shandi's going to win, though. It's obvious.

They love the color. Thank god.

Hee! I have to confess that I laughed like a hyena while reading Bert/Ernie/Elmo porn recently.

I find all the anime and cartoon stuff somewhat inexplicable at this point in my life, though I must admit I planned to marry Speed Racer (and Captain Kirk) in those heady, pre-kindergarten days when the line between animated and real was nonexistent.

Although, if you want to look at it literally, Bert and Ernie gave me my first fanfic experience. I used to use the puppets to enact complex story lines. So, I suppose I should thank those noble puppets for my wonderful perversion. *g*
