Okay, so I'm a sort of yaoi kick. I thought I'd never have an interest in dirty cartoons ever again, having gone through a "het" (i.e., tentacle/schoolgirl) phase several years back, much to Mr. Glove's bafflement. Anyway, to further explore the, er, art form, I discovered a way to be provided with vid files if I were to subscribe to a certain online storage service, as the files are obviously too large to send via email.
So I paid via Paypal, which supposedly would give me instantaneous access. That was about 14 hours ago. Yeah, I counted. I am still "awaiting processing," which implies some actual person somewhere has to input data. I find this kind of thing incredibly annoying because a business that sells technical services online should have this sort of system FULLY AUTOMATED, or so I think. In fact, I believe it the way some people believe in god. I mean, how unprofessional and borderline Luddite is that?
I emailed them a slightly snarky but reasonable message asking when I could expect to be processed and got back a cheery, contentless message with a tracking number and a request that I use the tracking number. Fine. Fuckers. So I sent them the same text with an additional note AND the tracking number.
And got back another tracking number.
No people handy to be blamed, and incompetent machines. I just want my fucking yaoi (which is a fannish kindness, and not even something I'm paying for...I just need the space I've paid for).
And re: Mr. Glove's bafflement. While I often find it peculiar and frustrating that he doesn't just follow me down my pornish paths with slavering enthusiasm, it's probably a good thing. Were he matching me in my fervor, I can see that I could easily end up turning tricks on a dirty mattress in the back of a van. So, I'll take the opportunity here to give thanks for Mr. Glove's moderate prudishness. Thanks, honey.
