So, do you have a website? Well, then, where's your damn link button?

I'm adding links to [livejournal.com profile] shaggirl's page, and making some changes to my own while I'm at it...and y'all don't have buttons. What's up with that? There are a surprising number of people who do manips and art who clearly know how to make things in Photoshop and...no buttons! Maybe I'm one of the few who is button crazy, but I just like them so much better on a link page than a bunch of text links. I realize that most link pages are just another form of "friends list" and probably not used all that heavily, but still...

I beseech you, give me BUTTONS. I may just have to start making random little bitty pieces of art and slapping your lazy, buttonless names on them if you don't provide them for me.

And, in the rambling section of tonight's post...this song (see current music) is about a guy killing his wife, so why is it so sexy? It's the howling, I think, and the sort of rolling drums.

Back on topic: BUTTONS, dammit!

What are the standard sizes for link buttons nowadays?

In terms of the "official" world, I don't know. Mr. G had asked me to make him some banners for actual paid ads awhile back and the dimensions were not nice, clean, round numbers...I think a banner was, like, 468 pixels wide and...I don't remember how tall.

In terms of the fannish, however, most of the ones I found when I first got interested in building a links page were 100x35ish, 150x50 or 300x100, so I've made mine (and the ones for the sites I've built) in those sizes. Basically, a 3:1 ratio.
