Woo-hoo! Look at the time! It is officially the 27th and I am OLD, dear children. Yet I appear youthful, even immature! It must be all the coffee and jelly beans.

This seemed like it would be simple until I started making decisions...it's difficult, and having a big list to pick from makes it more difficult, I think. I limited my choices to people who post very regularly--maybe not every day, but most days, with a couple of exceptions (i.e., people I've fangirled for so long that I have to include them even if they never post again), and I left out a lot of people I'm personally very close to. Huh. I originally met all of these people via Smallville fandom, but now I'm stuck on them and not just on their fannishness.
The letter K is unusually well-represented here. You will also notice that meeting people I have first encountered online is something of a special joy for me.

bonibaru
Responsible for reawakening my avid interest in pointy-chinned, big-eyed girliemen who are ambiguously gay, i.e. yaoi and shounen-ai. Always articulate and interesting, politically aware and principled. She's not involved so much in SV any more, but, happily, my LJ life isn't so Smallville-centric at this point, either.

kallipoe
She doesn't post often. She tells stories about her life. They are usually dead-on deadpan witty, but occasionally grueling. She mentions fannish things from time to time, but I enjoy her stories about her everyday self and the stupidity of Starbucks customers.

koimistress
Koi hasn't written an SV story since before I entered the fandom, but the ones you'll find on archive are…provocative, romantic, lush, or nightmarish. She doesn't post often enough for my taste, but her occasional essays and musings are worth the wait. I want to sit at her feet like a good pet, though I probably shouldn't admit that since I hope to meet her in May and don't want to frighten her unduly in advance.

kstanley
Loves New York in a way that is truly inspirational. Intelligent, generous, kind, and yet still snarky. Loves TV shows that I hate (i.e., Carnivale), but does it in such a way that I truly wish that I could love them, too. And her stories about her Texan relatives are…vivid.

latxcvi
LaT is part of my meta Holy Trinity (the others being Hope and Tham), and though she doesn't post often lately due to RL issues, I always enjoy her articulate dissections of our beloved crap TV. I first encountered her on TWoP, and it was in large part due to her posts about Smallville there that I understood that watching mediocre TV for superficial reasons (pretty!) and loving it anyway was nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it offers freedom, community, and a real opportunity to expand one's thought process and worldview. And it makes the show seem that much better. Of course, if she'd written that paragraph, it would make more sense.

pun
Punny Sue, the punny punster, kicks ass. Seriously. And when I go to NYC in May, she's going to kick me for real and I. Can't Wait!!!!!! I've met Pun, talked pets with her, and gotten minorly lost with her at my side. But before any of that happened, I just loved her for her sense of humor. The woman is called PUN, after all. She's also smart and has perhaps inadvertently become something of an expert on gay rulers throughout the centuries.

rhiannonhero.
My Muffin, which sounds a lot more coy than it should. There's actual muffinage, actual baked goods, involved with this. I could tell you where to go buy them. They're excellent. Rhi writes in a bunch of fandoms (SV, QaF, HL and TS so far), has oodles of minions, and gets into LJ-type trouble much more easily than a regular human. I'm convinced it's a form of charisma. Frankly, if you're on my list, you were probably on hers first… Oh, but just to be clear: I am not Rhi's minion, dammit! We're just friends.

rosenho
To my way of thinking, Hope has always been and remains the go-to person in SV fandom. Meta, script reviews, fic, art, and assistance in finding what you need fandom-wise. But she's also kind, funny, fair and generous. I have huge respect for Hope, in case it isn't clear. And maybe a little bit of a crush.

shaggirl
Dana is dirty-minded and runs with any fandom that catches her eye. She's also the one whose LJ I saw this meme on; her involvement in a new fandom culture has inspired her and, in turn, she inspires me. She and I met in person only briefly, but we've stayed connected through…all kinds of stuff, good and bad. I did her LJ and her website and wrote her a sick story and will be writing her another one because anyone who is as loyal and fierce as Dana deserves reward. Plus, she writes filthy porn. I read Harry/Draco because she wrote it, and I'm not (too) sorry.

thamiris
My fellow birthday girl (can you tell I enjoy sharing my birthday? especially with someone whose work I love?) Another one you probably already know. Meta, musings, and romantic porn with plenty of juice. If Apocrypha doesn't curl your volutes, you're dead. Tham has a unique ability to elicit perverse and divine confessions from the readers of her journal; if she poses a remotely sexual question, you're going to want to read the comments ;)
vid! As recently as a year ago, I didn't understand what fanvids were, but now I have preferences.
The fabulous Muffin, AKA
rhiannonhero made me a gorgeous vid for my birthday. QaF, Tori Amos' version of The Cure's Lovesong, and if you're on her list, you should go get it.
The SV vid rec in
crack_van this month is for
dreamaperture's gorgeous Lonely Soul (Richard Ashcroft/U.N.K.L.E.), and I point this out because when
shaggirl announced that C_V would start doing vid recs, I wanted to e-mail her and demand that this be the SV choice. I restrained myself since I already had my turn at reccing things, but obviously we're of one mind on this.
And, finally, it's apparently been around awhile, but I've only heard about it today:
sisabet & Lum's Angel vid, Whatever. You don't have to like Angel, character or show. In fact, you probably don't need to have even seen Angel. You just have to like laughing until you choke on your own tongue. Air quotes!!!!
buttons!
Everyone who has asked will be buttoned! If you have a site with SV content but no link button to go with it, and you like the idea of bossing me around a teeny-tiny bit, go here and put yourself on the list. I'll take all comers until 12:00 AM on Monday, i.e., through the weekend. I'll probably not have time to actually make them until Monday.
sekrit msg to reet: I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Date: 2004-03-27 01:21 am (UTC)I'll put a proper greeting up for you tomorrow (when after I go to sleep and wake up, I mean), but I couldn't not comment when you make me feel as squidgy inside. *g*
I'm glad you did this, because you got loads of people I would have liked to be on my list if I hadn't run out of room for SV fen. Ten is such an inadequate number.
though I probably shouldn't admit that since I hope to meet her in May and don't want to frighten her unduly in advance.
Koi isn't going to be in NYC in May is she? *holds in squee* Or are you going somewhere without me?!

Date: 2004-03-27 01:29 am (UTC)And man, oh, man, we are going to have the best time in NY. I'm going to book my flight this weekend. I'll probably plan to arrive early-ish on Friday and go home on Tuesday a.m. I'm going to book a float for Monday and try and meet with the owner or manager of that shop, too, if you'll be there that day and want to give it a shot.
Okay, going to bed. Will email tomorrow. *smooches*
