I needed caffeine, but now I've had too much. There's this little muscle above the outside corner of my left eye that's just going berserk, I feel vaguely nauseated, and I want to cry and tell someone (i.e., someone other than me) that the way I am feeling right now is all their fault. But that's not actually true, I don't suppose.

If I'm going to carry through with my plans to burn out rather than fade away, I suppose I ought to post some fic soon. Does anyone remember when I used to write stories?

This costume-making gig is shiny in both the literal and Firefly senses of the term. There are sequins everywhere.

Eh, we're addicts.

We'll wait for you to post more stories whenever, 'cos we're all wrapped up and waiting from the times we read the last ones.

So...obviously I've missed something again...what are you making?

(Serious downside to getting online every two weeks. Argh for another time.)

Oh, just ignore me. I'm having crankiness re: my stories and their...staying power. divaDIVAdiva. Because I can, because this is my journal.

I am making a Carmen Miranda costume for my friend Kicky, who is doing a performance as part of the New York Burlesque Festival. She had a costume that she was thinking wasn't really good enough for the "big city" and I readily concurred...and offered to make her one, which meant making a pattern. She had no idea that I actually had never made a pattern from scratch before; I told her once we had the skirt fit on her and looking fabulous. I can't run a 4-minute mile or cure cancer, but there are plenty of things I've never done before that I know I can do...

Anyway, red sequin fabric, mermaidy skirt, floor-length w/train and double-ruffle. Itty-bitty vest-type top with ruffle sleeves. A big headdress, which she has been working on. I think I should have made it, but it's her costume and she wants to do something... And we're going to paint and glitter her shoes.

So far, this has been fun, and even though I'm just doing it for her, I could charge people a ridiculous amount of money for this sort of thing. I think I might be able to start a business making costumes like this. Also pasties. You would not believe how much $ people get for sets of pasties! There's probably not time for me to get a bunch of merchandise together in time for the NYC show (which I am attending) as it takes place just a month from now...but there's always mail order.

So. That's that ;)

This is from so long ago even I don't remember when you wrote it...and I'm not looking at the date, I don't want to know...

Re the pasties thing. At least that end of the business you should run. Two reasons.

1. People will, as you noted, pay ridiculous amounts of money for pasties, even barely-decorated ones.

2. There's something cool yet sleazy about running a mail-order pasties business out of your home. :)

It's my fault your eye is twitching and you haven't written a story! Berate me!!

If your birthday story is late, will you still accept it?

Of course you will.

How about if I berate you for your birthday story being late?

Did you have a date with my husband, or did he have to work?

Date: 2004-04-12 09:19 pm (UTC)

He had to work. *pouts*

And of course I accept my present late! I want you to have all the time you need to fill it full of wrongness. *g*<>

He called me this morning to bitch about maybe having to work. I think he likes dating my friends ;)

And I'm poking at the end of the remix fic, which I'll need back by the 17th when I finally send it for beta...and then I can work on yours. I've been thinking about it. A lot. I think it will be very, very bad.

Date: 2004-04-12 09:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] twigged.livejournal.com
Well, I don't think I'd be taking too much on myself to say we like dating him, as well. :P

Stop poking! Send file!

And then go read my rentboy!update. You know you're feeling adulterous, and H/D are so very pretty.

*lures you with pretty boys*

I'd send it now, but I do think it's only fair that I write an ending before I send it to beta. Lex is being an ass, which I like just as a concept, but I think other people might want his assiness to go somewhere, have some sort of object or point.

Or I could just throw in another blowjob, i.e., slash writer's deus ex machina.

From: [identity profile] twigged.livejournal.com
Er...yeah, I guess an ending would be good. :D I like assy Lex a lot, actually. And thumbs up on a blow job.

Helpful?

Maybe we should try the primal scream thing? I'll scream along if you'd like.

Remember -- breath into the diaphragm, and then let it all out.

Ready?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

! ! !

There, now we are hyperventilating together. Feel better?

Hee! I'd love to scream, but I'm reading this at 11:17 PM, right next to the cages my birds are sleeping in. I'll just have to try hyperventilating quietly ;)

I'd rather just skip straight to wanking you about it.

If I come this weekend, can we get your dogs drunk?

Hmm...well, you can get them a little tipsy. Not drunk though. Poor wee puppies!

Would you like to blame me? It's okay, I don't mind. I often randomly blame people I don't know for things they don't know about. And they never find out, I get to feeling better, and sometimes make a new friend. But, regardless, you can yell at me if you'd like...eye twitching is really, really bad. :::hugs:::

From: [identity profile] velvetglove.livejournal.com
I tried hollering, "Goddamn lizzi!" but it lacked substance, a certain sort of real vigor.

The eye twitching seems to be a permanent feature now; I think I might as well figure out a way to pretend it's a purposeful thing, or a sort of beauty mark rather than a tic.

You could always start a trend...then you could sell special eye shadows and glittery things to wear on your eyelids. Seriously, I'm sorry your eye's bothering you. I hope you feel better.
