New York City: What kind of weather can I expect? It was 85 and humid here today, and I can tolerate that just fine (though I prefer cooler and less muggy), so I'm assuming that May in NYC will not tax my internal thermostat. Please tell me if I'm wrong. Also, who's going to come to the fannish gathering on the 15th? I am planning (i.e., I intend to do, may or may not actually accomplish) to go back and look at prior NYC posts and pester people via e-mail to come meet. You will want to meet me! I am fun!

bra talk: I have a feeling that I might be the last bra-wearing person in the world to discover that the Body by Victoria bras at Victoria's Secret are amazingly comfortable. They also give me cleavage, which is a surprise. Why didn't anyone tell me about them? Why weren't random women coming up to me and telling me bra stories completely unsolicited? Because, of course, I would have been so receptive to that. (Well, I would have been if they were cute women.)

irrational behavior: I have sent out the first where-is-my-beta???? e-mail to readers for the Ai no Kusabi story. It has not been 24 hours, but I can't even wait 24 hours to complain about (irrationally perceived) slacking.

coiffure: I have bangs for the first time in about 15 years. I used to wear them very thick, but these are sort of...optional, I guess. I can brush them into the rest of my hair really easily if I still want to have a giant expanse of forehead showing. I stopped by to see Kicky this afternoon with biz card mock-ups and got her to cut them in between scheduled hair clients. I'm cuter than I was before she cut them. I think I could now pass for about 19 if evaluated out of the harsh light of day. Especially now that I have this huge pimple on my chin. Ah, how I thrive on stress...

equal love demand: Has there actually been some sort of organized (or even semi-organized, or maybe just a group of strident harpies) effort to bully fans of the Smallville program into declaring equal affection and allegiance for both the Clark and Lex characters? Because I have seen much protest against this unfair infringement of fannish rights, but I've not seen even a hint of the actual pogrom. I'm not talking about people saying that there are two viewpoints to consider/two sides to every story, etc., because that doesn't seem to be the complaint. If there is anyone who is, in fact, declaring that a true SV fan must love Clark and Lex equally, I'd be very interested to know who. Because I'm nosey, that's why. And because, if such a person actually exists, I'd like to go heckle them for being a moron. But I'm thinking this might be some sort of fannish unicorn and not a real issue at all.

You *definitely* need the boots.

Of course, I am probably not the best person to advise. I moved with 14 pairs of shoes (2 of them boots), have bought five pairs since I have been here, and just had a box of 40 pairs shipped to me from CA.
