I had the pleasure of the company of both [livejournal.com profile] rhiannonhero and [livejournal.com profile] gothphyle this weekend. The ever-accommodating [livejournal.com profile] misterglove made (South-Beach-approved) food for all of us, and we got a little bit drunk and laughed so hard that at least one of us almost died. If the troubadour job was still a viable one, I would elect Alee as the multifandom storyteller. Never before has fic of dubious quality been so delightfully recounted...

The three of us (minus the Mr.) had lunch at a nice outdoor cafe and inadvertently became the entertainment for a large portion of the other patio people, what with our discussion of real people with fake names, fake people, specifc portions of male anatomy and their forceful conjunction, and the punctuation of my embarrassingly loud and frequent braying laughter. There were actually two tables who seemingly stayed to simply watch us. One of the guys at those tables was really cute, fwiw...

Last night, Mr. G and I made Alee watch Olympics with us before allowing her to return to her hotel. For which, apparently, I now owe her that Harvey Keitel/Quentin Tarantino RPS that I threatened many, many months ago.

Apparently, people who know Alee in RL think she is a nice, homey, traditional sort of girl. Ha!

I love having people I love visit me.

After putting it off for nearly a month, I have just realized that I have to write a story in the next five days or risk being a fandom outcast. And it had better be a good one, too.

~~~
Working on a logo project for a friend's business. She does my hair; the work I do for her is in trade. While this will be good portfolio fodder (a nice, big, professionally-painted sign, as well as business cards and whatever else) there's only so much hair work I can get done. I need to find clients who pay in money.
~~~

I want to take a trip out west so, so badly. I miss the ocean. I miss pointy trees. I miss seagulls. I know there are fen in Seattle and Portland both, and I bet some of them would even want to see me...

Me! I nearly died! And it's all about me, so that was really the only thing in this post that mattered. ;) I'm sure you realize that was a joke.

Would I be a good minion if I didn't remember that everything is always and forever ALL ABOUT YOU? No, I didn't think so.

I know of at least one who wants to see you...

Yay! I am staying with you, btw. So tell me when is good and when is not so good time-wise. I'm thinking winter. I never get to wear boots here because it's too hot.

I currently have no plans. Whenever is good.

(p.s. I'm eamiling you right now with my logo idea for my business. It's ugly, although I'm sort of satisfied with it for what it is. but I need another pair of eyes on it.)

Heh. Thank you. It's nothing but a concept at this point. I am going to have to pull off a dramatic maneuver to actually end up with a story...

I want to see you, too ;)

I'm thinking winter...January or February maybe. There's no opportunities for scarves or boots here ;)

Lol, think that one over again. Here in Portland? It's 63 and raining, which it has been for the last two days and will continue to do until Friday or thereabouts. I'm in a sweatshirt and long pants and pissed off about it. This is our month of good weather!

Dunno how long since you've been back, but: Powell's has added a couple of floors, MAX goes from Hillsboro to Gresham with a spur up to the airport and a spur up to the Expo Center, there is a street trolley that goes all over NW Portland, the Pearl District has taken off (this is good and bad), lots of new galleries and good places to eat and drink and for PDX fen to gather...

I'd like 63 and raining! I miss 63 and raining! We have things like 90 and raining like a torrential mofo for five minutes. FOr 63 and raining, you can plan your outfit and activities...not so much with sudden biblical downpours.

If I show up in Portland, you'd come meet me, right?

p.s. love the icon ;)

I have some out-of-town committments in Sept and Oct, but am free free free for anything else! I live near the airport and have a fortuitously unscheduled life.

Most certainly I will meet you, even come get you at the airport and ferry you around. I might could even dig out the spare bedroom...

Hee! I have to tell you, I think "troubadour" would be a MARVELOUS job -- it's perfect for those of us who are, in fact, just great big hams at heart! *makes ridiculous, yet seductive pig-snuffling sounds*

Mr. Glove gets the "Marvelous Husband (and Cook) Seal of Approval", and remains witty and handsome as pie to boot. (Tzuzuki says "Pie!", and sprouts ears and a tail in his honor ;)

I, of course, will need several days to recover from the concentrated doses of hilarity and fun that were had this weekend. *mwah*

Perhaps we can combine troubador with the U.S. Women's Rolling Team idea...sort of like the coxswain in rowing, except with badfic...

Well, look at that. *I'm* in Portland. Sometimes I even leave the house to see people!

Well, if I came to visit and you wouldn't come out on your own, I'd come get you.

I'm thinking January or February...
