beta? sooner rather than later?

In the next hour or so, I'm going to need a beta for my 101 Nights Clex story. It's going to be NC-17, of course. I'm worried that my usual betas will balk at the short notice (as in, I just notified them), and I'm wondering if anyone else will be up, around, and interested. Also, of course, familiar with betaing. I prefer specifics rather than impressions. And, in this case, I require near-instantaneous turn-around.

Short, smutty, Clex. Any takers?

I have to stop with the last-minute stuff. Including the last-minute starting over.

Well, I'm restarting a second time, and I'm already an hour late for posting, so I anticipate this is going to take a bit more time... I'll send it along when I'm done, but please don't wait up for it! I imagine it will be at least one more hour, probably two. I can't seem to get them to like each other any more. Angst, angst, angst. Since that's really not in the spirit of the 101 Nights project, I am struggling against them mightily.

I will definitely take you up on that! However, at this point, I am now starting on version #3, having rejected the first do-over as too depressing and contrary to the spirit of the entire 101 Nights project, so I'm anticipating I probably won't be done for at least another hour, probably two. So, I'll send it, but please don't stay up waiting for it ;) If I manage to find people awake, I'll be grateful, but I certainly don't expect anyone to follow my ludicrous, panic-driven schedule.

I was randomly assigned my birthday as the due date for my 101 fic. That might ensure I don't forget about it entirely until the night before it's due.

Oh, I'm taking it as an omen that when I got your response I had just channel flipped to The Food Network, and "The Secret History of Pie." Clark works in mysterious ways.

How short is short? I usually go to bed around three or four, so I'll definitely be around, but I'm fighting with a Lex and Clark of my own and lord knows I can't leave them unsupervised for very long. Clark's already getting unruly.

Well, it only has to be a thousand words, but I'm close to that and no one has taken off so much as a shoe. They're eating lunch! Placidly, like cows with cud, and if that isn't unsexy, I don't know what is. I should just be happy that they're not fighting (yet), but I'd really like it if they'd get down to business. Loosen their ties, anyway.

I'll send it along when done, and if you've got time, I'd love to see your thoughts. I'm not expecting this piece to be genius, but it does need to be serviceable porn.
