feedback challenge: lalejandra
Jun. 27th, 2004 01:39 pmI've heard
lalejandra's name bandied about, but we've never crossed paths due to lack of shared fandoms. I was a bit apprehensive this would prevent me from being able to give her real feedback, but then I discovered a treasure trove in her memories:
My So-Called Life
There's fic for this???? Good fic?
Like, yes.

politics depress me
Jun. 27th, 2004 07:27 pmI'm actually not interested in "officially" discussing what my political beliefs are*, but today I met some new people in RL who share my beliefs and it was actually quite depressing. We (me and Mr. Glove) were all squeeful and excited to be talking to them (shiny new couple) because they feel as we do, and it's so not-the-norm to find people who feel as we do here in Nashvegas.
By the norm, I'm actually referring to the media image of public attitude. Pretty much everyone we know personally shares our attitudes. I try to avoid the news as much as possible, which is pathetic, but it also keeps me from feeling useless and pointless and helpless.
This is a place where people are freakishly eager to add their weight to fannish groups, whether it be team sports or politics, and the issues deemed important in *politics* are actually *social* issues in the what-church-do-you-go-to vein...
Anyway, so a couple hours of yapping with like minds has actually made me wonder what the fuck we're doing here for even five more minutes.
Oh yeah. Money, house, erratic person who doesn't work. That would be the reason.
But, hey: Six Feet Under tonight.
*though I'm sure it's obvious
