good:
  • the last two eps of Veronica Mars downloaded and ready to watch

  • so many anime series/movies downloaded that I'm not sure what I've even got at this point...

  • 2nd volume of Descendants of Darkness and 5th volume of Saiyuki close at hand

  • I loved Transference and was only mostly squicked by deodorant-related sense memories in re: Jinx.
  • I wrote out longhand notes on Nanowrimo project and can pretty much see the entire thing but for the ending, which is what I prefer at this point anyway.

  • New Nick Cave album is really wonderful. I could have guessed this, but now I have empirical evidence.

  • Mr. Glove comes home tomorrow!

bad:
  • formerly slender left ankle is still at least half again as big as it should be and I cannot walk very well.

  • I apparently amuse and/or interest very few people at this point in time.

  • everything costs actual money, not beads or sacks of grain.

  • I still miss my dog like crazy.

  • election, etc.

  • Mr. Glove leaves town again on Monday and will basically be gone until mid-month or longer.

Well, you can tell he isn't 25 any more, but I don't know what a listener who already knows/likes his work would find fault with. I haven't read any reviews, and I don't know what they were perhaps attempting to do and maybe not entirely achieving, etc., etc., but it's two separately-titled albums with subtly but decidedly different overall musical themes. Or, in plain terms, one album has lots of backing vocals and the other doesn't ;)

He hasn't put out an album that I haven't liked since he started putting out albums, so I might be a bit of a diehard and/or biased at this point.
