Today TSR decided to address the info-sharing issue, though from a funny angle and with omissions aplenty, so lindsaybluth*, AKA me, asked some questions and got some lame answers. I'm just storing screenshots now, is all. I get very worked up about such things - near to puking - so I think I'm done with confrontations for the time being.

What Steve said:

My initial reply:

The next round, which was subsequently removed:

An apology from me, and a reiteration of the issue:

...and because the caps I saw at PMBD don't seem to have all the comments that I managed to cap, here's everything I got before I started feeling too pissed-off and shaky to even look at the stupid thread any more.

What is it we're saving screenshots for, anyway? For the gloating factor? Ah, well, in case there's a real reason for this, they're saved. If anyone who knows what to do with them wants to grab the images, please do so.

*other Arrested Development fans may be amused: I set up a new email for TSR, of course, not expecting gmail to actually allow such a long name, but it DID, and my login/email for the lindsaybluth account is/was selfishcountrymusiclovinlady @ etc., etc.

I'm not totally sure about the saving of screenshots, either. I suppose it's to provide evidence when TSR deletes shit and says "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? THAT NEVER HAPPENED. DO YOU SEE IT? IT DIDN'T HAPPEN, THEN."

Did you get banned?

Dunno. I really do need to stay away, even though the whole thing is apparently gone now.

I doubt I'm banned - yet. They seem to be staying away from the ban hammer for the time being - maybe they want to seem "fair." I was expecting to get banned after my comment in LDG's blog thingy, and that didn't happen. So far as I know, all the mostly-negative comments to her are still up - they were this morning, anyway. I did try to download stuff (specifically, wideopeneyes, who suspect will be approached for FA "status" if she hasn't been already) and was blocked for several hours yesterday, though that could have been some system glitch rather than something specific to my account. Ah, paranoia...

Speaking of documentation/proof, I'm surprised that I've never heard about them claiming that screenshots were faked or altered. That seems like what smart liars would do, but I guess it's easier to deny/accuse/bahleet.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if wideopeneeyes is made an FA. Sad, but not surprised. Though if we could just get her, Cyclonesue, and possibly Mirake away from TSR, I doubt I'd ever go back.

Wise of them to lay off the banhammer, with all the ruckus over there, but I doubt it'll last. Come to think of it, you're right, it is pretty odd they've never tried the "THIS LOOKS SHOPPED!" route on the screenshots.

Those are the three I wish would leave, as well. I've heard that Mira actually turned down FA status, so I wonder what makes her stay at TSR? Cyclonesue seems to be a genuinely nice person, and my understanding is that she hasn't been treated particularly well there, so again I can't comprehend why she stays.

As for 'shopping, where are all the Atwat "Tub Girl" pictures? The Tom & Steve Lemonparty pics? What this community really needs is less attempts to discuss matters rationally and more nonsensical gross-out porn with pasted-on heads.

Back when gelydh and I first left TSR, C'sue actually said to me she envied us, and that she actually already has her own site. I remember thinking 'Why don't you just go, then?' I'd love to see her on her own as well.

Something I think is really too bad is that the TSR creators whose work is really well-liked outside of TSR don't hear enough about it from those of us who dislike or mistrust the TSR admin and the creepy, cultish, groupthinking userbase. I've never been comfortable leaving positive comments at TSR, which has everything to do with TSR and nothing to do with anyone's actual creations, and I don't think I'm the only one. I remember that you and Gelydh were surprised by how popular your stuff was, LDG seems surprised, and I have a feeling Cyclonesue would also be a bit taken aback by the fangirling if she did leave TSR...but she has to leave to find that out, I guess.

Hmm...could she be coaxed? Lured? Dragged kicking and screaming?

I don't think it would hurt to hint that she'd be crazy well-received on the outside, to be honest, especially given what happened with LDG. At the worst, she just decides to stay.

Mirake herself posted over at SimsCave that she did turn down FA status because she wants her stuff to stay free. After I read that I loved her stuff even more than I already did lol.

From what my former-FA friend told me, Thomas likes playing FAs off each other and was particularly hard on Shakeshaft (who always seemed really sweet when I used to hang out on the TSR building forum). Cyclonesue is a nicer person and very funny (her blog is totally hysterical).

Even when she was Bella's best friend (maybe still is?) Mira seemed like a very nice, reasonable person regardless of what the nutjobs around her were doing.

Quite some time ago, Cyclonesue posted a fix for some borked files the day after my sub expired. Rather than put forth my case in the forums only to be buried under "you want something for free" accusations, I posted directly in her blog that it wasn't fair that customers who bought something that was broken through no fault of their own had no recourse except to resubscribe. She agreed with me and made sure I got the updated files. I think TSR have stopped the policy now, but for a while after that updates of borked files were free for a week or so to cover people in that same situation. I really hadn't expected her to do anything except delete my comment, so my adoration of her stuff kind of bled over into an adoration of my vague idea of what she's like as a person.

My hed iz pastede on yey!

You're right, though. If I could stomach Tubgirl for more than the time it takes me to load a page it's on, see it, go "OH SHIT NO" and attack the Back button, I would make some. (I realize you're probably being sarcastic but it would be funny regardless.)

Dunno about the bannination one way or the other, though I doubt I'm banned just yet. I haven't gone to check, as I seriously do get too worked up by stuff like this. They didn't ban me for my comment to LDG, though, and I was expecting that they would - seems like people have been banned for much less in the past. Maybe they're ushering in a new era of tolerance.

...why does this sound like a well-veiled threat?

These shenanigans are making me paranoid. And disgusted. And sad. Mostly paranoid.

Half of what those guys say sounds like a veiled threat. They've given me the creeps for years. There's only so much snideness/ignorance/donkey-like braying that I am willing to attribute to me not getting the "tone" of something they've written. The accusations of betrayal, cowardice and disloyalty are just fucking weird.

Even creepier, though, are all the people who *don't* make any money off of TSR who still believe it is God's Favorite Site.
