because I think it's pretty

glorious, glorious hair

You can actually tell the dining room walls are painted two shades of burgundy here, which is nice. However, I could look cuter. Still, is the hair not glorious? If you like big, out-of-control hair, that is. I had Kicky blow-dry it straight for me, as I never bother to do that myself. Pretty hair makes me happy.
Perusing the hate thread, apparently I have been mean to someone, or perceived as mean. Which is too bad. I really don't try to be mean to people a good 97% of the time (yeah, I thought for a moment and corrected that figure down from 99%). If I did something to anyone with intent to harm, I am sorry, because one should apologize for the bad judgment that leads to deliberate nastiness. But if I was flaky, didn't answer a comment, didn't respond to an e-mail, stated I didn't like something that you like or that you do...then we have some differences of opinion about what is important and I am not necessarily sorry for things like that. In which case, you'll just have to keep me on your Bitch List.

Date: 2004-06-22 10:51 pm (UTC)I suggested to Kicky today that we work over the summer toward making my hair look just like Heather Locklear's...and I realized that I was only partly joking.

Date: 2004-06-22 11:02 pm (UTC)You need me to braid your hair and that would make everything all right, even if I am exclusiony and mean.

Date: 2004-06-23 01:33 am (UTC)The first take, with you looking all bashful? That's terribly cute.
Re: Weirdly enough...
Date: 2004-06-23 12:59 pm (UTC)After years of trying every color but blonde, I am rather enamored of this extreme silver-blonde and am tempted to make my entire head this color. But then that would be boring. I am tempted by pink (I've been dark reds, but never light), but I know myself and I wouldn't keep it up. Light pink with dark roots just looks...sad.

Date: 2004-06-23 06:55 am (UTC)The burgundy walls look great, your house must be way cool!
no subject
Date: 2004-06-23 12:36 pm (UTC)The house is, theoretically, very nice. Except I live in it, and I leave droppings everywhere, i.e., books and papers and purses and shoes and plates with crumbs on them. Also, we have ugly furniture. But it's still a good house ;)

*sigh* Okay, the BNF jokes are getting old. I'm sorry ;)

Date: 2004-06-23 09:02 am (UTC)you braid? my hair requires braiding in order to behave itself no matter what I think it should do. (it's sometimes longer than my back, but right now it isn't, but it still needs braiding because it just does.)
I'm with you: air dry, finger comb. if it requires more than that it ain't gonna get it.

Date: 2004-06-23 12:46 pm (UTC)And, no, I don't braid. My hair is too thick to braid, and even though you can't tell (because it's been blown out straight), there are a zillion layers cut into it, making it even more difficult. I twist it up in a bun-like thing when it's wet, shove a chopstick through it, and when it's dry, I have Rita Hayworth waves. Which is great, because it makes it look like I did something proactively, but all I did was wait.

Date: 2004-06-23 11:21 am (UTC)I think it would be interesting to have multi-toned hair, but I can't even be bothered to get a haircut more than once a year or so. I'd neglect it and look wretched(er). But yours looks FABulous!

Date: 2004-06-23 12:50 pm (UTC)Within my limited hair skills, I've always tried to make my hair look pretty/interesting, but I'd never have attempted highlights this dramatic on my own. It's great to have a really talented pro at my beck and call (well, sort of) in exchange for costume production on my part.

Date: 2004-06-23 03:22 pm (UTC)I too air-dry and don't brush, most of the time. I am totally copying your "dry in bun with chopstick for RIta waves" technique - my hair is a similar length and also heavily layered. I still keep forgetting I have long hair now. Yay, hair!
Also, you ARE a BNF and that means you're friends with EVERY BNF and you have parties where you bitch about us NNFs. I know. Personally I think this rocks.
