I hate admitting defeat, even if I'm insisting on calling it only "possible" defeat. [/cryptic]

On the "healthy eating" front, I haven't had any sugar in about 72 hours and I feel very, very strange.  Dopesick, maybe.  It's not entirely unpleasant.  At least not until I remind myself of the defeat (see above).

I need reassurance of a global, generalized, hug-free nature if you have any to spare.

You're fine.

It depends on how much your sugar intake was previously, of course, but you're just coming down. It's normal. White sugar is a toxin, and as it leaves the body, you'll go through withdrawal symptoms.

Things to make it easier--if you're allowed fruit juice or fruit, that will help. If you're not, drinking lots of distilled ice water will do in a pinch. Remember that the closer to pure white sugar is, the worse it is for you.

Also, when you return to sugar as a lifestyle, be prepared, depending on how much time you've been without it, for it to taste overly sweet and even acidly bitter. This can be palliated, again, by eating fruit or drinking fruit juice, using fructose or turbinado sugar as sweeteners instead, and avoiding products containing a great amount of processed sugar.

Dunno if that was general enough, but it's applicable, since it's what's happening to you. You are strong and you will get through this. I have faith in the Jed.
