So, has anyone actually seen the full October 2004 issue of W? You know, the one that has the mostly-naked and evening-undressed boys (oh, and some girls, too). Every single other issue of W ever published (usually featuring Gisele Bundchen and her tan, round boobies on the cover) has been available in quantity long after its cover month is past, but this one has yet to put in an appearance--and I've been looking. It does occur to me as I type this that it might be some Baptist thing, patrolling the media borders and keeping the 2-D deviants out of God's Country. Which is probably the same reason I can't find Sweet Action (though I'm apparently not missing much).

In related news, I've turned into a bitter, nasty, complainy monster. I took a nap but it did nothing except put sheet creases into the side of my face. Note to subconscious: I'm having my period. I don't need to dream about having my period. Thank you.

I've been looking all over San Diego in the major places for getting even the more unusual magazines and have had zero luck.

Some guy went as far as to say they had gone out of business which I don't believe, but makes me wonder why I can't find it. I've seen it on display plenty of times, maybe they are having some kind of distribution problem.

That sounds like patent bullshit, doesn't it? They certainly aren't out of business. Considering that W is in the magazine business, they'd have to know that advertising the hell out of this feature would pump up demand, so hopefully they printed extra copies.

And it's not like they don't send me subscription invites every few months, and even the occasional free issue, so I'm unreasonably annoyed that they didn't send me this particularly copy as an inducement.

Oh, I'm really enjoying the crabby thing today, aren't I?

I can't remember the novel, but the female lead feared that she was pregnant due to a brief, tasty, but poorly timed encounter. She wished desperately to have her period so that she would know she wasn't pregnant. So she went down to the store, bought herself an expensive nightgown of sheerest white lawn, hand embroidered, and then also bought expensive white sheets. She took a long hot shower, scrubbing ever part of her body clean, put the new sheets on the bed, put on the nightgown and went to sleep.

You know the rest.

Hee! It's like lighting a cigarette while waiting for a bus that's running behind schedule.

I have owned precisely one pair of white pants, and that was 25 years ago.
